Scraunch

Scraunch is an application that allows the Novation Launch Control XL MIDI-controller to be used to control a Roland JD-Xi synthersizer.

Scraunch essentially receives CC-messages (a type of MIDI-messages) from the Launch Control XL, translates them to SysEx-messages (another type of MIDI-messages) and then transmitts those SysEx-messages to the JD-Xi. In essence, a Launch Control XL is turned into a synthersizer control surface that reach far beyond what can be done using the built-in JD-Xi knobs and buttons.

Scraunch is configurable allowing basically any JD-Xi synth parameter to be controlled by a knob, slider or button on the Launch Control XL. Scraunch also supports the 8 user templates available in Launch Control XL. In other words, each of the 56 assignable controls can be given 8 different JD-Xi functions (in total 448).
